WIGAN’S visit to Dean Court tomorrow will come too early for broken leg victim Ben Watson.

The 29-year-old midfielder suffered the injury against Barnsley in February and has since undergone seven months of intensive rehab.

The scorer of Wigan’s FA Cup-winning goal against Manchester City two seasons ago, Watson is currently in non-contact training.

He is due to return to full training in the next fortnight and will therefore be nothing more than an interested observer for tomorrow’s fixture (3pm).

Wigan have made a modest start to the campaign and have taken just eight points from as many Championship games.

Uwe Rosler’s side are yet to win on their travels in any competition, with their best result away from home coming when they drew 0-0 at Huddersfield in the Championship 10 days ago.

They had their unbeaten home record ended by Ipswich on Monday as the Tractor Boys edged a 2-1 success.

Wigan had to contend with the loss of star midfielder James McArthur just before the transfer window slammed shut.

Premier League Crystal Palace forked out a club-record £7million for the 26-year-old, who had previously looked set to link up with Leicester.

The Latics brought in the likes of Don Cowie, Adam Forshaw, Emyr Huws and William Kvist during the summer.
