JUNIOR Stanislas feels his decision to reject Premier League football in favour of a switch to Cherries has been vindicated.

The 24-year-old was part of the Burnley side that earned promotion to the top flight last season, but then elected to turn down a new deal and move to Dean Court on a free transfer.

Stanislas has featured in seven of Cherries’ eight Championship games in 2014-15 despite strong competition from his fellow wingers.

Asked if he had made the right decision in the light of the Clarets’ early-season struggles, Stanislas told the Daily Echo: “In terms of where Burnley are, you can’t judge them too harshly because they have had some tough games.

“But in terms of my own personal decision, I’m happy. I’ve been starting games and coming on the pitch.

“I’ve only not come on once when I’ve been on the bench.

“I think I’ve contributed towards the team and how we’ve played. My decision was solely based on football reasons and playing, and I’ve had that opportunity so far, so I can’t complain.”

Stanislas has vied with Marc Pugh, Ryan Fraser and Matt Ritchie for a starting spot and boss Eddie Howe has been content to rotate the quartet.

The ex-West Ham man added: “As much as you want to play every single game, you have got to respect and appreciate what others around you can do as well.

“It can be difficult if you are trying to put a run of games together but you to look at it from a team point of view.”
