CHERRIES manager Eddie Howe has praised his players for their bravery following their memorable 31-pass goal at Norwich on Saturday.

Callum Wilson posted an early contender for goal of the season when he ended the move to equalise against the Canaries in first-half stoppage time at Carrow Road.

Every outfield player had at least one touch before Junior Stanislas provided the killer pass to Simon Francis who crossed for Wilson to sweep home his fifth goal of the season.

Although television highlights only showed Wilson’s finish and the final few passes, the video below, uploaded to the club’s official website, shows the move in full.

Howe told the Daily Echo: “I knew it was a very special goal and knew we had kept possession for a long time. The final part of the move was top class with Junior’s pass, Simon’s movement and cross and Callum’s finish.

“It was great to see us rewarded for keeping the ball and it is not often you see a goal with that many passes so the players should be credited for their bravery.

“I don’t think that is highlighted enough because it is a very difficult thing to do. I was delighted to see the players get their rewards.”

Howe, who was unaware a video had been produced of the move, added: “That is nice to know and it is great for the team and the players.

“We are constantly trying to highlight to the players how important our philosophy is and how if we do it well, it can really benefit everybody.

“We are becoming known for our style of play and, hopefully, this just reinforces how effective we can be when we do it correctly.”
