THREE men with familial ties renew hostilities when Bournemouth Poppies take on Bemerton in tomorrow's FA Cup replay – but spare a thought for the little lady caught in the middle.

Kelly Vaughan is set to be chief arbitrator when Poppies, managed by dad Ken and featuring brother Kenny in goal, take on a Bemerton outfit spearheaded by her partner Scott Joyce.

Saturday’s 0-0 draw at Western Way ensured any boisterous bragging was put on hold but someone will be crowing by the end of the night when the Wessex Premier rivals clash at Victoria Park (7.45pm).

Poppies boss Ken Vaughan joked: “I’m not sure what Kelly is thinking. I’d like to think she is Poppies through and through but I don’t want to put her on the spot by asking who she’s backing for this one!”

Meanwhile, the manager warned that Poppies still had it all to do to keep marksman Joyce quiet and secure the £1,925 prize pot and first qualifying round trip to Winchester City on September 13.

Vaughan added: “Scott will definitely provide a test but Bemerton are a good side with a lot of quality across the park.

“We made no special arrangements to deal with him (Joyce) on Saturday and everybody did their job quite well. We were solid but nobody really looked like scoring.

“It was a tight game and both teams got a good look at each other. It could be cagey again but whoever breaks the ice has a great chance of getting through.”

Vaughan hopes to name an unchanged squad but defender Lewis Burgis and striker Connor Phillips face late fitness tests after picking up knocks on Saturday.
