WIMBORNE AC narrowly gained bragging rights as three local clubs completed their Wessex Young Athletes’ League season at Woking.

Bournemouth AC won the under-15 girls’ match as English Schools champions Hannah Molyneaux and Danielle Broom took maximum points from both shot (12.29m, 9.35m) and discus (31.67m, 30.39m).

Olivia Galloway (28.24m) and Amelia Dobson (21.44m) won both javelin strings, while Gemma Kennard (1.50m) and Abigail Richardson (1.35m) won the high jump with Kennard and Charlotte Sidaway clocking 13.5s for 100m.

Pippa Hine won the 200m for Wimborne in 26.6s, with club-mates Bethan Burley and Charlotte Ayton runners-up in shot (10.70m) and discus (21.47m), respectively. Poole AC’s Macy Godden was second in the javelin (23.24m), with Bobbie-Louise Gannon winning the under-17 women’s shot.

Lewis Shepherd scored an under-17 100m double for Poole AC (flat 11.5s, hurdles 13.7s) and club-mate Sam Wheeler won the 200m in 23.5s. Wimborne’s Toby Randerson sprinted to an under-15 double (11.9s and 24.4s).

Among the under-13s, BAC’s Tola Chliwna dominated the sprints (13.8s and 28.2s) with 200m B-stringer Rebecca Hannibal also a winner (30.0s). Yasmin Bridet was second in the 70m hurdles (12.4s). They won the relay with Louise Galloway (57.7s).

  • Under-15 80m hurdler Joe Mitchell clocked 12.6s as Poole Runners completed their season at Andover. Under-15 Dominic Willmore (2:11.4) and under-13 duo Josh Jack (2:32.3) and Owen Silcox (2:32.6) starred over 800m.
