HAMWORTHY Recreation maintained pole position and their 100 per cent winning start in the Dorset Premier League with a 2-0 victory at Tintinhull.

Jamie Moores set them on their way in the 50th minute with Luke Stone adding the second on the hour.

Portland United also kept their strong opening month going with a 2-0 success at Hamworthy United reserves.

Parley Sports’ record remained unblemished after they edged out hosts Mere Town 3-2.

Adam Trimby got the first goal in the 10th minute with Tobias Holmes doubling the lead on the hour.

The Moonrakers gave themselves hope midway through the second period when Scott Martin reduced the advantage from the spot.

However, straight from the restart, James Bailey-Pearce restored Parley’s two-goal cushion.

With two minutes to go, Martin ensured a nervous finale as he notched his second, but Mere could not complete a comeback.

Sturminster Marshall are still searching for their first win after falling to a 3-2 defeat at Sherborne reserves.

Wareham maintained their undefeated start to the season with a fine 4-2 win at Westland Sports.

Suwie Thompson sent Wareham into the break 1-0 up and although Josh Payne equalised after the resumption, Jordan Basing then netted a second for the away side.

With 10 minutes left, Leo Hayward made it 2-2 but a late double from Jonathan Dent allowed Wareham to take home all three points.

Elsewhere, Alan Lay's Swanage Town & Herston side crushed Blandford United 6-0 at Days Park.

Sam Beale got the opener and the floodgates opened in the second half.

Chris Woods doubled the advantage before Beale got his second and then Rowan Robinson, Graham Rose and George Harvey completed the rout.

Meanwhile, Poole Borough and Cranborne shared a 1-1 draw and picked up their first points of the season in the process.
