FERNDOWN Golf Club's Hayley Davis has today won the English Women's Open Amateur Stroke Play Championship.

The youngster blew away the challenge of her rivals as she triumphed on four-under-par at Tandridge Golf Club in Surrey.

Davis' opening two rounds of 73 and 71 were more than solid offerings, but her third-round effort - a seven-under 64 - saw her take command.

And Davis held her nerve with a closing 72 this afternoon, which ensured she took victory as the only player in the field to finish under-par.

Her nearest rival was Haverfordwest Golf Club's Becky Harries, who totalled two-over for the tournament.
