CAPTAIN Ryan Beck insists New Milton will take nothing for granted as they bid to take another step towards what would be a memorable promotion.

Victory over second-placed Sarisbury Athletic six days ago widened the gap at the top and left leaders New Milton in pole position to win the Division One title.

But despite the prospect of securing a place in the top flight for the first time in the history of the revamped competition, Beck says nobody at the club is getting ahead of themselves.

The Green & Golds, who finished third in 2010 and 2103, will be looking to maintain their 100 per cent winning record when they host seventh-placed Hambledon at Fernhill on Saturday (1pm).

New Milton also face strugglers Fawley and Liphook & Ripsley before completing their campaign with fixtures against high-fliers Bournemouth and Basingstoke & North Hants.

Beck told the Daily Echo: “I have played too much cricket for New Milton to know there is still a long way to go. We would love a crack at the big time but are taking it one game at a time.

“There isn't much between the teams at the top and the bottom and anything can happen. Basingstoke were unbeaten and then lost two on the trot. We need to make sure that doesn't happen to us.

“We played Sarisbury last week and I can't see them losing another game because they are a quality team. We have some tough games left and need to keep our foot on the pedal.”

Toby Edwards returns to replace Tom Prodomo, while all-rounder Dan Loader is unavailable as he is attending a garlic festival in France.

Also in Division One, Bournemouth will be bidding to maintain their impressive form when they travel to Basingstoke & North Hants (1pm).

Elsewhere, Lymington and Bashley will be looking to avoid picking up the Premier Division time pennant wooden spoon when they visit Hampshire Academy and Totton & Eling, respectively (11.30am).
