CHRIS Park praised Ryan Scott after the Lymington batsman inspired Dorset to their first MCCA Championship win in two years.
Scott’s second innings knock of 77* helped the county side triumph at Herefordshire on Monday, ending a miserable run of results stretching back to July 2012.
Skipper Park said: “Ryan batted out of his skin and he was the young lad who put his hand up and won us the game.
“To bat as responsibly as he did in only his third or fourth game was absolutely first-class.
Park added: “We were under pressure for much of the game but the bowlers did a fantastic job on Monday morning to set things up.
“We had hands up at the end to see whose first Championship win it was and it was about seven or eight, which shocked me a little bit, but the guys were superb.”
