BOURNEMOUTH will be bidding for a place in the last eight of the Southern Premier League t20 Cup when they host Havant in the second round on Sunday.

The Lions, whose victory in the competition in 2008 paved the way for them to win the national Cockspur Cup in 2009, face the Premier Division leaders at Chapel Gate (3pm).

Two-time winners Bashley will be hoping to avenge Monday’s President’s Cup defeat at the hands of Lymington when they entertain their New Forest neighbours at Bashley Cricket Ground (3pm).

Meanwhile, New Milton and Calmore Sports have been chosen to host two of the SPL t20 Plate competition qualifiers on Sunday, July 13.

In an experimental three-team format, New Milton will play the winners of Fawley and Langley Manor at Fernhill Sports Ground for a place in the semi-finals (4pm).

Calmore’s Loperwood Park will stage the hosts against Portsmouth & Southsea in a 12.30pm start, with the winners playing Totton & Eling (4pm).

Instead of being involved in a straight knockout, the 12 competing clubs will play at four different regional venues with the winning sides qualifying for the semi-finals.

Meanwhile, entries are being taken for The Dorset Cricket Centre Midweek Indoor Leagues which start later this year.

Matches are played on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings between September to March.
