FINN Trehane took his tally of national qualifying times (NQTs) to nine as he led a medal spree by Bournemouth Collegiate School swimmers at Bristol.

The 12-year-old struck gold in the 100m breaststroke, silver in the 200m backstroke and 400m individual medley (IM) and bronze in the 100m backstroke and 400m freestyle during the second weekend of the South West Age Group Championships.

All his times were NQTs and he is now ranked among the top two 12-year-olds in Britain in five events and in the top 10 in nine.

BCS team-mate Zoe Gannaway now has a full set of NQTs in the freestyle events after winning silver in the 13yrs 400m freestyle and bronze in the 200m.

She is also qualified to swim the 100 and 800m in Sheffield this summer.

Grace Kingsley missed her NQT by 0.3sec as she won bronze in the 14yrs 200m backstroke.

Bronze also went to BCS's Christian Tai in the 13yrs 400m IM, while Leonie Derapeter, Henry Bramwell-Reeks and Alesha Gibson all made finals.

Jemma Green added two silver medals and a bronze to her regional collection, coming second in the 14yrs 200 and 400m freestyle and lowering her 400m NQT by more than a second.

She was also fourth in the 100m backstroke and shared a bronze medal after anchoring 4x100m freestyle relay team-mates Morgan Long, Megan Leaper and Jess Richens to third place.
