CHERRIES front man Matt Tubbs looks set to join AFC Wimbledon on loan, according to reports.

League One Crawley had agreed a deal with Cherries to sign Tubbs on a temporary basis a month ago, but the 29-year-old was cool on the prospect of a return to the club where he spent half of last season.

And now the former Salisbury City man - who has been told he is surplus to requirements at Dean Court - seems set to join the League Two Dons instead.

The striker has spent two spells at Crawley and scored eight goals in 18 appearances for the Broadfield Stadium outfit while on loan last term.

Meanwhile, the Daily Echo understands Reading are one of multiple clubs in the race for Cherries target Callum Wilson.

The Royals declared their interest in the 22-goal frontman to Coventry City, but any move would be reliant on the Berkshire club being taken over.

Nottingham Forest and Wolverhampton Wanderers are also keen on prising the £3million-rated youngster away.
