GARY Emerson’s first senior major ended in disappointment as he failed to make the cut at the US Senior PGA Championship.
Off the back of a three-over-par first round at Harbor Shores, Michigan on Thursday, the Remedy Oak pro - who had complained of a blistered heel pre-tournament - carded six-over 24 hours later.
That left Emerson nine-over overall with the majority of the second-round damage being done on the first six holes of the back nine, where the 50-year-old dropped six shots.
The Bournemouth-born golfer is next scheduled for European Senior Tour action at the PGA Seniors Championship, which will be held at Stoke by Nayland Hotel, Golf & Spa from June 5-8.
He is likely to be joined by Ferndown Golf Club’s Kevin Spurgeon, who is eligible to play in the Colchester event.
