DORSET selectors have wielded the axe ahead of their must-win Unicorns Trophy clash against Wiltshire at Dean Park on Sunday (11am).
Defeat at the hands of their neighbouring county would almost certainly put an end to Dorset’s chances of progressing to the quarter-finals.
Dorset have experienced a Jekyll-and-Hyde start to their Group One campaign, following up a morale-boosting win over Wales with a crushing defeat by leaders Devon.
And a quartet of players who featured in the nine-wicket mauling at Sidmouth five days ago have made way, while Hampshire’s Lewis McManus is unavailable.
Masoor Khan, Aaron Williams, Ryan Scott and Matt Carpenter have been left out with Tom Hicks, Michael Porter, Luke Webb, Jack Leach and James Hayman returning.
Dorset, who complete their group fixtures with a trip to Cornwall on May 25, are likely to need to beat second-placed Wiltshire to keep alive their qualification hopes.
Dorset: Lintott, Porter, Lawrence, Webb, Leach, Park, Hicks, Thomson, Denham, Wolstenholme, Hayman. 12th man: Esson.
