FIRM Chris Holder has ruled out remaining in the Pirates line-up for the long-term in 2014.

The 26-year-old replaced fellow countryman Darcy Ward in early-April after the latter ruptured knee ligaments in the New Zealand Grand Prix.

Ward has admitted his season may be over and depending on his fitness following the Finnish Grand Prix next Saturday, Pirates could be left without a number one.

However, Holder has moved to distance himself from re-assuming that role.

The Sydneysider is racing in Poland and Sweden in addition to the Grand Prix, while he is also fixed up in Denmark.

And with three leagues in mainland Europe on his plate in addition to the world championship, Holder does not see racing at Wimborne Road as feasible.

He told the Daily Echo: “I’m doing Wednesday against Lakeside but then it’s the GP and Darcy is planning on riding, so hopefully he will get through that and can take his place back at Poole.

“It’s sort of wait and see how he goes. I’d like to stay but I’ve planned my year as if I’m not doing England, so a lot of things would have to change for me to come back.

“It’s not that easy to just turn it round. You need bikes, mechanics and engines and I’ve planned a few other things over the season.

“I couldn’t really be pushing any more meetings than what I’ve got already, so I’ll see what happens.

“I’ll try and help out where I can but at the end of the day I made the choice not to do it, so I want to try and stick to that.”
