ALEX Lee scored a 56.2s 400m hurdles win as Team Dorset opened their Southern Athletics League Division Two campaign at Andover.

Jack Roach (1.97m) and Ryan Webb (1.95m) achieved maximum high jump points, while Poole AC’s Roach also won the long jump with 6.57m.

Wimborne AC pole vaulters dominated both men’s and women’s events through Jack Snook (3.80m), Mathew Curtis (3.60m), Trudi Carter (2.90m) and Rosie Busher (2.50m).

Alistair Tuck was second in the hammer (45.56m), with Jason Sotheran a close third in the 1500m (4:15.7).

Meanwhile, Ashleigh Power scored a 13.0s and 26.0s sprint double in the women’s match.

  • Rosie Wootten received an ath¬ lete-of-the-match nomination for her 1.61m high jump victory as League newcomers Bournemouth AC travelled to Plymouth in Division Three.

Club-mate Sarah Kearsey ran 62.5s for 400m and 66.5s for 400m hurdles, while Kevin Hodgson clocked 22.8s in the 200m.

Anya Kay achieved 9.75m in the shot.
