WINGER Ryan Fraser admitted Lady Luck had helped him net the all-important equaliser at Yeovil – but insisted fortune had been in short supply for Cherries.

The pacy wide man threw himself at Byron Webster’s attempted clearance to send the ball looping over Glovers goalkeeper Marek Stech in Saturday’s 1-1 draw at Huish Park.

But while the Wee Man described his 59th-minute leveller as “the luckiest goal I have ever scored,” Fraser felt Cherries had warranted all three points, despite conceding they had not been at their best against the Championship strugglers.

Discussing his fortuitous third league goal of the season, Fraser told the Daily Echo: “I chased down the boy, he hit it off me and luckily for me it went over the goalkeeper.

“He just wanted to get rid of it and tried to smash the ball as hard as he could. It rolled all the way up my body and came off my face but I will take it.

“The manager tells us to pressure defenders every chance we get and that’s why, sometimes, you get the breaks you deserve.”

On the match, Fraser added: “They scored a wonder goal but, other than that, I didn’t think they showed enough to win the game.

“We had the better chances with Grabbs, Yann and the one I had in the first half which I should have done better with.

“Overall, I thought we deserved to win the game. It wasn’t our best performance at all but we dug in and I thought we were worth more out of it.”
