UPBEAT Iain Weaver could fight in the United States more regularly in future after claiming an American promoter is keen to sign him up.
The Ferndown boxer suffered the first defeat of his professional career to Wanzell Ellison in New Jersey last week, but the promoter of that bill was impressed with what Weaver had to offer.
And ‘The Blessed One’ revealed that Vito Mielnicki, CEO of GH3 Boxing Promotions, wants him to be involved in more of his shows.
Weaver told the Daily Echo: “After the fight the promoter said he wanted to sign me. He said he would love to work with me.
“He’s going to offer some sort of contract and we will see where we go from there.
“If he offers a good deal then I’m sure we can work something out and I will be back out here fighting more often.”
