AFC Bournemouth's Jason Tindall: James Hayter still a big threat

Bournemouth Echo: ASSISTANT BOSS: Jason Tindall ASSISTANT BOSS: Jason Tindall

ASSISTANT boss Jason Tindall knows Dean Court old boy James Hayter could pose a threat to Cherries’ chances of maintaining their late push for a play-off place.

Hayter, Cherries’ top goalscorer for five successive seasons between 2002-03 and 2006-07, is expected to lead the line for Yeovil Town at Huish Park tomorrow.

Tindall said: “He has had an incredible career and has scored goals everywhere he has been. He is a good player and uses his experience a lot more now. He is still a danger and a threat and we will have to be aware of him and show him respect.

“Everybody who watched him play for us will know what a fantastic servant he was. He served Doncaster really well and helped them to promotion to the Championship and did the same with Yeovil last season. It will be really good to see him after the game and, hopefully, he won’t have too much to smile about!”

Yeovil are currently six points adrift of safety, while Cherries are just two points shy of the play-off places. Asked whether the Glovers would be dangerous opposition due to their predicament, Tindall replied: “I have seen them a few times this season, both in person and on DVD, and they are a good side, especially at home.

“It is a tight ground and the crowd always gets right behind them so we won’t be surprised by anything they throw at us. If we can perform at the level we have in recent weeks then we are certainly a match for any team in the division. We are looking forward to the challenge ahead. It is going to be a tough game.”

Tindall said he was “hopeful” striker Lewis Grabban would recover from a minor groin injury to keep his place against the Glovers, while Charlie Daniels could travel after coming through a midweek run-out for the development squad.
