SCOTT Mitchell continued his impressive form and played his part in an imperious England showing at the BDO British Internationals this weekend.
The Bransgore-based professional hit treble figures with three darts no fewer than 32 times, more than any of his team-mates, as he trumped Welshman Tony Bradley (4-2) and Scotland’s Harry Todman (4-2) in Halifax.
England marched to a comfortable success in both matches with Wales despatched 11-1 on Saturday before Scotland were bashed 10-2 yesterday.
Mitchell started well against Bradley and raced into a two-leg lead, stealing the second with a 102 check-out after 15 darts.
‘Scotty Dog’ was then pegged back to 2-2 but round off his success with a 14-darter, polished off with a double 18 at the second attempt.
Following a sloppy start to his match with Todman, Mitchell found himself two legs behind but hit back to win the next four, using fewer darts in each leg on his way to victory.
