UNDEFEATED Iain Weaver will warm up for his first title tilt in Poole with a trip across the pond to take on unbeaten American Wanzell Ellison tomorrow.
The Ferndown boxer will look to add to his five professional wins when he takes on the 25-year-old in a six-round bout in Ellison's home state of New Jersey.
With 10 wins and a draw from 11 professional outings, the clash should prove one of 'The Blessed One's' sternest tests to date in Parsippany.
Weaver, 24, is due to follow that fight up with a shot at both the Universal Boxing Federation (UBF) world youth super-featherweight title and the World Boxing Union world youth super-featherweight title at the Lighthouse, Poole on Saturday, April 19.
The event, now sanctioned by the Malta Boxing Commission, sees veteran Steve Bendall top the bill despite a late change of opponent.
Bendall, who won the WBU middleweight crown from John Akulugu in Germany last December, will defend his crown against 39-year-old Ghanaian Emmanuel Clottey.
- Tickets for the Lighthouse event are available from Bendall on 07855 942151. Prices start at £25 with ringside seats available for £70.
