HOT-SHOT Kyle Smith was the two-goal hero for Poole Town FC Wessex in their 2-0 victory over BYFL rivals Kingswood at Ferndown.

The striker scored both his goals in the first half to secure the trophy for the red and whites.

Poole’s successful team have been together since the under-7s which was run by the present under-13s boss Dan Herrington.

The former Cherries develop-ment officer’s team also won silverware at this year’s finals.

Current coach Paul Ridley, who runs the side with Andy Smith, said: “Dan’s philosophy (passing the ball and finding space) is still very much present now. We have further developed the squad over the past three years and are delighted to be winning trophies and challenging for titles.”

Poole reached the final with wins over Sherborne (1-0), Bland-ford (7-1), Corfe Mullen (7-1), Cougars (5-3) and Longfleet (4-3).

Kingswood, meanwhile, toppled AFC Chesil (5-1), Parley (3-2), Poole Rovers (3-0), Branksome United (3-2) and Gillingham (2-1).
