MANAGER Eddie Howe hailed Ryan Fraser’s “best away performance for us” following Cherries’ 1-0 victory at Barnsley on Saturday.

The 20-year-old winger turned in another eye-catching display and was in the thick of the action as Cherries created the lion’s share of the chances at Oakwell.

Howe, who has given Fraser 21 starts and nine substitute appearances in the Championship, said: “I thought Ryan was terrific and he is improving all the time. For a young player, the physical demands of this level are huge.

“He is playing week in, week out at 20 and is still developing physically. We are aware of that and it is a big demand so we take him in and out when we feel the time is right. When he plays, we want him to be at his best. I have been really pleased with him.”

Howe recalled Matt Ritchie and Yann Kermorgant with the Frenchman partnering the hard-working Lewis Grabban in a two-pronged strike-force.

“We like Yann a lot and he has obvious qualities,” said Howe. “I thought he was a real threat and he will only get better the more he plays with us.

“Different games require different things and we are not sold on any one system. We will continue to change our game-plans for different games and use different players.

“Any of the players on the bench could have played today and will play. I will continue to rotate it because that is going to be one of the strengths going forward.”
