UNDAUNTED captain Alan Manning believes Bournemouth can pull off the Great Escape by drawing on the experience of last season’s relegation battle.

Lions, winless since October, sit some 19 points from National Two South safety ahead of a home match with second-placed Canterbury on Saturday (2.30) but the skipper insists a revival could still be on the cards.

Manning said: “It looks as if we will be right down at the bottom fighting it out until the end, but we are prepared. We know exactly what it’s like because we did it last season and we will do it again.

“We know that we have quality, particularly with the speed we get from the wings so we will always play to our strengths with an attacking style of rugby.”

Openside Charlie Grace has left Chapel Gate after taking a chance to play in Australia but Lions hope to have Dan Pollard and Tommy Booth available for the clash.
