LEADERS Rossgarth became their division’s first team to score more than 100 goals with an emphatic 15-2 win over under-11 rivals Puddletown Predators at Potterne Park.

The Dorset League Division Three front-runners have now netted 113 goals in 15 matches, conceding only 26.

Captain Charlie Guy played a leading role for the Verwood-based team by scoring five of the goals on the 3G pitch.

Ashley Rylance and Joseph Aller both hit hat-tricks, while Ben Phelps scored two.

Making up the Rossgarth tally were Aaron Taylor and Adam Lambert.

“I was really proud of all of the boys,” said delighted Rossgarth manager Trevor Phelps.

“Despite the scoreline, Puddletown made it very difficult for us, as they never gave up and kept going right to the end.

“It was pleasing to see goals coming from throughout the team. I have to say a big well done, also, to those boys that didn't get on the score sheet as well, as they are still very much part of the result.”

Rossgarth are four points clear of nearest rivals Poole Town Wessex Rovers, who have two games in hand.

The title race, however, is not a two-horse race as the prolonged wet weather has resulted in many teams having to play catch-up.

Third-placed Wool and Winfrith have played only nine games, while Grange Athletic, in fifth, have completed only eight of their fixtures.

Both sides have only lost one of their games.

Rossgarth, meanwhile, have prospered from their new facilities at Potterne Park which include a 3G artifical pitch, allowing them to fulfil most of their home fixtures.

Rossgarth under-11 squad: Charlie Guy, Ben Phelps, Sam Powell, Peter Piesing, Ashley Rylance, Alex Harman, Adam Lambert, Aaron Taylor, Craig Pitman, Harvey Booth, Joseph Aller, Charley Wallworth.
