BOSS Steve Cuss called for more of the same from his Wimborne charges ahead of tonight’s home match against Yate – despite a dispiriting dip in form.

Magpies suffered a sixth defeat in seven Southern South & West matches against second-placed Cirencester on Saturday, but Cuss felt the Cuthbury outfit had performed well against their high-flying rivals.

And with another play-off contender swiftly emerging on the horizon, the manager remained confident Wimborne could halt their slide while playing host to another Gloucestershire-based frontrunner (7.45).

“If we can reproduce that consistency in performance then the results will come,” said Cuss.

“If we can replicate Saturday’s performance against Yate then I’m hopeful we will get something out of the game.”

Frontman James Stokoe, who was withdrawn from a central-midfield role after picking up an ankle knock against Cirencester, could be a doubt for Magpies but Ollie Phillipson-Masters may make his long-awaited return.

Magpies: (from) Harvell, Arnold, Oliver, Maybury, Costello, Blake, Webb, Kemble, Stokoe, Burton-Hemmings, Gamble, Griffin, Davidson, Phillipson-Masters, Grose, Roast.

  • Dual-registered full-back Adam Flint, recalled by parent club Salisbury City at the weekend, should be available for Bashley’s home match with Redditch United in the Southern League Premier Division (7.45).

Bash: (from) George, Strickland, Roberts, Ansell, Marden, Rolls, Bulpitt, Blackmore, Soetan, Brookes, Joyce, Odam, Kenna, Manders, Flint, Morris, Lloyd, Jones.

Rookie striker Alex Martin (unavailable) misses out but manager Graham Kemp has the rest of his squad to call upon.
