CHERRIES goalkeeper Benji Buchel will be hoping to help Havant & Waterlooville book a date at Wembley after joining the Conference South club on loan.

Buchel, recalled from a loan spell with Poole Town, is expected to start when the Hawks host Gosport Borough in the first leg of their FA trophy semi-final on Saturday.

The 24-year-old Liechtenstein international has been drafted in by former Cherries boss Lee Bradbury as first-choice stopper Scott Bevan is struggling with a back injury.

Buchel could also feature in the second leg at Gosport’s Privett Park a week on Saturday with the final taking place at Wembley on March 23.

Only the second Liechtensteiner to ply his trade in England after Franz Burgmeier at Darlington in 2008-09, Buchel will join former Cherries defenders Dan Strugnell and Warren Cummings at West Leigh Park.

Cummings, however, is ineligible for the Hawks in the FA Trophy having played in the first and second qualifying rounds for Poole.
