FORMER Poole Wheelers member Harrison Fielding was the best-placed Dorset rider in the Calshot Winter Series.

Fielding, now with Peter Hansford Racing, finished second to runaway winner Brendan Drewett (Fareham Wheelers).

The track league was a winter target for 16-year-old Drewett and the first-year junior had the series sewn up well before the final round.

Fielding’s brother Alistair (Poole Wheelers) came third in the youth category at the popular Hampshire venue.

Rebecca Raybould (Poole Wheelers) took second place in the ladies competition with her club-mate Aisha Fenwick in fourth.

Six-year-old Gregory Eastham, from Winton, came 13th in the youngsters category as he tried to emulate father Richard, who finished second in the senior league.

The 2013/14 Calshot Winter Series has been a great success with promoter Tim Knight reporting record numbers.

Round one of the 2014/15 series has been provisionally booked for the first Sunday in November.

Other local results – Youth C/D/E: 4 Ryan Hodgkyns (Poole Wheelers), 6 Digby Llewellyn, 7 Poppy Llewellyn, 11 Aiden Dewhurst (Poole Wheelers), 13 Gregory Eastham.

Youth A/B: 7 Eve Jefferies (Poole Wheelers), 16 Alex Jolliffe (Team Terminator).
