NEW boy Peter Wright is out to prove he is no flash in the pan when he takes on fellow Premier League rookie Dave Chisnall tonight.

Colourful Scot Wright, who reached the PDC World Championship final in January, marked his tournament debut with a 7-3 success over Wes Newton in Liverpool seven days ago.

Chisnall also tasted success on his first showing after edging out Robert Thornton 7-5, but bullish Wright, known for his unconventional image on the circuit, fired a fierce warning to his rival.

“Dave did well last week and deserved his win but I want to smash him up,” said Wright.

"I really enjoyed last week and the crowd were brilliant. I'm looking forward to more of the same in Bournemouth.

"I've been working hard on making a good start to matches I think I'm proving that I'm not just a gimmick, I'm actually a guy who can throw some good darts.”

The evening’s other encounter sees 2011 champion Gary Anderson take on 2012 runner-up Simon Whitlock, with both men having suffered defeats on the opening night.

"Even though I lost to Raymond last week, I played well,” said Anderson. “I had an average over 100 and finished well, when I was given the chance!

“My game is getting back to its best and I'm looking forward to this week. I have had to play catch-up in the past couple of Premier Leagues so I know I can't afford to lose again. I'm determined to win against Simon."
