BOSS Steve Cuss said he had been doubly disappointed after watching Wimborne twice surrender the lead before going down 4-2 at Stratford in Southern League Division One South & West last night.
Jamie Davidson took advantage of some sloppy defending to fire the Magpies into a 15th-minute lead before Richard Gregory equalised from the spot for the hosts.
Wimborne’s hopes of halting a poor run of results were boosted when Ian Oliver unleashed an unstoppable drive from 30 yards which restored their lead six minutes into the second half.
But as the conditions deteriorated, Jamie Sheldon again levelled for Stratford before further goals from Gregory and Chris Sterling condemned Magpies to another dispiriting defeat.
Cuss told the club website: “I was very disappointed because I felt the players deserved a little bit more from the game. Losing after leading twice was particularly disappointing.
“I was pleased with the way we passed the ball but, when you give away soft goals, it is hard to win games.”
Magpies: Harvell, Arnold, Oliver, Wilson, Costello, Blake (Kemble, 81), Davidson, Sainsbury (Webb, 77), Stokoe, Gamble, Griffin. Unused sub: Maybury.
