The League One outfit told Dolphins’ 22-year-old defender they would not be following up their interest after he featured in a development squad friendly against Wolves on Monday.
And with no offers forthcoming after trials with Cherries, Portsmouth, Huddersfield Town, AFC Wimbledon and the Valiants, Swanage-based Spetch is keen to keep his eyes on Poole’s promotion prize until the end of the campaign.
The Tatnam prospect told the Daily Echo: “I could not have done a lot more. The problem going to these places at my age is that you have to be quite a bit better than what they have.
“I have been on quite a few trials now and Poole have been great about it but that will probably be it now until the end of the season.
“There comes a point where you have to draw a line under it and concentrate on playing.
"It’s not dead and buried for me and I will still work towards getting my move but we have a lot of games left at Poole and I have to think about what I am doing here.
“As a non-league player, the trials have been a really good experience from me and the training has really helped my fitness.”
