AFC Bournemouth: Partington to spend rest of season at Aldershot

Bournemouth Echo: LOAN: AFC Bournemouth's Joe Partington LOAN: AFC Bournemouth's Joe Partington

CHERRIES utility man Joe Partington has had his loan spell with Conference club Aldershot Town extended until the end of the season.

The 23-year-old has played the full 90 minutes in each of the Shots’ six matches in all competitions after joining Andy Scott’s men at the start of the calendar year.

Despite featuring in the first 13 games of Cherries' promotion campaign last season, Partington was used sparingly following Eddie Howe’s return in October 2012.

His initial deal had been due to expire at midnight tomorrow.

Meanwhile, experienced goalkeeper Shwan Jalal seems set to stay at Dean Court for the time being.

His proposed loan move to League One Bradford City looks to have fallen through despite impressing on trial with the Bantams in December.

Hope this leads to an offer for Partington at the end of his loan spell.

As Eddie had plans for Joe as a midfielder it would be good to see him back with us. And how he shapes up when fit and injury free.
Best of luck do well at Aldershot and get back here!

Totally agree. He is playing at his true level. Let’s hope it becomes a permanent move. No need for a fee, just get rid.
.
Isn’t it strange how he could hardly complete half a game for us, was permanently unfit, yet he goes to another club and plays 6 for 90 minutes straight off. Not the first player that has happened with either.
.
Now Eddie, be bold, admit you got this wrong, get rid of Allsop, and install Jalal back as number 2. Pigs might fly.
