SOURCES in south London suggest that Charlton Athletic striker Yann Kermorgant will today undergo a medical and complete his deadline day transfer to Cherries

The 32-year-old was given permission to discuss personal terms with the Dorset outfit after the clubs had agreed a fee of between £400,000 and £500,000.

Kermorgant held talks with Cherries boss Eddie Howe at Dean Court on Wednesday before returning to his home in south London to consider his future.

A hugely popular figure at the Valley, Kermorgant is out of contract in the summer, although Charlton boss Chris Powell is known to be keen to keep him.

Kermorgant, who joined Charlton on a free transfer from Leicester in 2011, netted for the Addicks in their opening day defeat by Cherries in August and also scored the only goal when the teams met in League One in March 2012.

The Frenchman, who is known as ‘the beast from Brittany’ due to his powerful frame, worked with Powell when he was on the coaching staff at Leicester, Kermorgant’s first English club.

Although boss Howe has a strict policy of never commenting on players who are registered with other clubs, Powell confirmed Cherries’ interest in Kermorgant in an interview with the South London Press.

Meanwhile, Cherries goalkeeper Shwan Jalal is today expected to join League One outfit Bradford City on loan until the end of the season. Jalal, who has kept 48 clean sheets in 147 league starts for Cherries, impressed during a trial with the Bantams last month.

And Cherries utility man Joe Partington is likely to extend his loan spell with Aldershot until the end of the season, having initially joined for a month.
