AFC Bournemouth: Cherries rumoured to be closing in on Kermorgant deal

Bournemouth Echo: TARGET: Yann Kermorgant TARGET: Yann Kermorgant

CHERRIES are understood to be closing in on the signing of Charlton Athletic striker Yann Kermorgant.

Sources close to the Echo suggest the Dean Court club has had a bid in the region of £400,000 accepted by the Addicks and that Kermorgant is on his way to Dorset to discuss personal terms.

Earlier this week, Cherries boss Eddie Howe politely declined to comment on rumours linking Cherries with the 32-year-old Frenchman.

Meanwhile, reports from the South London Press have today linked Charlton's Welsh left-back Rhoys Wiggins with a return to Dean Court.

Wiggins had two spells with Cherries before making the the move permanent in the summer of 2010.

However, on the back of several player departures Wiggins angered the club's supporters by making public his desire to leave less than 12 months later and subsequently joined the Addicks in June 2011.

Excellent news and will add strength, aerial ability, experience and goals to our front line!!! :)

My only concern now is what the extent of the injury is to Daniels but having said that I thought that Harte was pretty good last night. Also, there are still rumours linking us with Wiggins an d so I am sure that Eddie has this covered.

I do not think any rel supporter doubts the ambition of the club, I do think some supporters do not understand the reluctance of the manager to play any other way than one up front, at the start of the season we had Grabban, Thomas, Pitman, Pugh, Ritchie, who were all proven goalscorers all of whom seem to have lost their form at the same time, leading to doubts that the system was the right one for them this appears to be born out by the fact we struggle to score in open play and our midfield are contributing in the way of goals, hopefully if we can persuade this player to join us it may signal Eddies intent to play two up front and not just switch Grabban out wide were we do not see the best of him

Below is a quote from the Addicks Championship diary:

********************

"AFC Bournemouth have agreed a fee with Charlton for Yann Kermorgant according to Sky Sports News: Kermorgant

The fee is understood to be £500,000, a £100,000 advance on what was offered last week, and Roland Duchatelet has decided to cash in. Uncertainty over the future of Chris Powell has unsettled Kermorgant.

If this is confirmed, I shall be very sorry to see him go as the battling Breton has been a great servant to the club. Some of his set pieces have been spectacular. Unfortunately, he has not always got the service he deserved with long balls directed at his head."
********************
********************
********************
*******************
I very much look forward to seeing him in a Cherries shirt and he could be eligible for Saturdays game against Leicester. :)

I am confident that the likes of Ritchie, O.Kane, Arter, Pugh, Daniels etc... will give him the service he deserves

This I believe will be a very significant signing in us staying up this season

Could just be paper talk but I seen in on quite a few internet forums. To be fair to Wiggins he is a decent left back and Charlton are looking to offload assets. Also, he probably only left because Eddie did.

Will have to wait on this one, which will be decided in the next couple of days

Smith, can of course play on either flank, I would have thought that if Daniels injury keeps him out, Smith will come in. Our "Breton" sounds a very useful addition to the Squad. Hope that we can stop the Leicester "band wagon" in it's tracks on Saturday, what is it nine wins on the trot. But then, we always seem to raise our game against the better sides.

Playing him on Saturday is a must with all the passing we do in the box , he is the man who can feed off it and create some chances

Didn't need to hear from Wiggins, after his agent said it all in The Echo about how his client had Championship ambitions and that we were holding him back and then with Wiggins actually putting in a transfer request that pretty much said it all! I realise Charlton went on to get promoted but at the time it was a sideways move and a bit of a bloody cheek! However, if he does indeed come back i am certainly willing to forgive,( if not forget).
Anyone who wears the shirt will always have my support.

So he wanted to play at a higher level which he did, he wanted to earn more money, don't we all, so he got his move that he wanted. I wonder how many players that we have signed have engineered a move from their previous club to come and play for us at a higher level and earn more money with us, agent seems to of said quite a bit and we all know what they are like, they always tell the truth and put the players first!!!!!!

There are ways to conduct yourself when you leave a club and Wiggins didn't conduct himself very well whether he was badly advised or otherwise. I have no problem with players going on to bigger and better things although that hasn't really turned out to be the case in the end has it. Danny Hollands left at the same time and was warmly recieved when he returned as were other players. Wiggins wasn't. Seeing as you can't quite grasp my previous explanation i'll leave you to work out why for yourself Sherlock.
But as i stated earlier, if he returns he will have my full support as anyone who wears the shirt does.

You know this is typical of players they see the money is better elsewhere then they leave and after a while in the reserves or on the bench they start
looking elsewhere again and some come crawling back e.g wes Thomas
I see wade elliot is out on loan in league1. Royce wiggins should not return good player though he is! Players should like any employee any where should respect employer! we only want players who want to play for us while under contract!

Grabban had a look to see if the grass was greener too......

Yes he had a look, but he stayed.
With W£ggins there's still a bad taste in the mouth. Would divide support if he returned I think.

But we all know Grabban probably only stayed cos we gave him a load more money, pleased he stayed but more than likely it was the cash!!!!

I don't think it was about the money personally remember he played for palace youth Brighton and palace hate each other so why would he play his boyhood club arch rivals

Good point it could of played a part in it, although he did travel to Brighton to talk to them so he must of been interested, I'm pleased he stayed and if we do sign Kermogant it will make things interesting

Don't think Kermogant is a done deal yet as for Harte totally agree thought Cook would have come on for Daniels but Harte played well corners excellent pity we didn't get a free kick in the right place . No doubt Leicester are going well but not unbeatable thought we played 442 when Rantie came on apparently not though..
