Non-league: Satterley's Bashley future in doubt

Bournemouth Echo: UNSURE: Bashley boss Paul Gazzard UNSURE: Bashley boss Paul Gazzard

BOSS Paul Gazzard admitted the future of Jack Satterley was up in the air after the rookie striker signed forms with Wessex League club Blackfield & Langley.

Satterley was snapped up by Bash over the summer after scoring 15 league goals during his maiden Wessex Premier campaign with Verwood Town last season.

Watersiders dual-registered the hitman in time for Saturday’s FA Vase defeat at Larkhall and, while Gazzard would like to see Satterley continue his development at Bash, the joint-manager was unsure over the youngster’s plans.

Gazzard told the Daily Echo: “Blackfield came in for Jack and he was due to speak to them at the end of last week. I know they wanted him in for their FA Vase game but I don’t know what he intends to do beyond that.

“We have to look at the possibility of keeping him on because we do not want to lose a good, up-and-coming young player, but if it comes down to money there will be no room for manoeuvre from our point of view.”

Meanwhile, Hamworthy United have bolstered their goalkeeping options by dual-registering Wimborne Town’s back-up stopper Dan Ackerman.

The custodian, second in command to Jason Harvell, will primarily remain at Cuthbury but Hammers boss Graham Kemp will be able to call on his services when Wimborne are without a fixture.

Elsewhere, goalkeeper Lee Bray and midfielder Max Crow have rejoined Blackfield & Langley following their recent spells with Bournemouth Poppies.

Apart from Nic Jones, there are no real Southern Prem quality players at Bashed. So it should come as no surprise when players leave to play at their true level.
