WIMBORNE boss Steve Cuss believes striking the right balance between style and substance can sway in his side’s favour tomorrow’s showdown with Swindon Supermarine (3pm).

Magpies will look to close an eight-point gap to the Southern South & West play-off places when they face Marine, who are also battling to make up ground on the top five.

Manager Cuss, who has seen his side’s past three fixtures post- poned because of the weather, predicted an open match against the Wiltshire outfit and called for a savvy approach to maintain control of the Cuthbury clash.

Cuss told the Daily Echo: “We always like a pure football match and are happier playing against a side with a similar style to us. They certainly like to get it down and play and we are more comfortable playing that way.

“Like us, they score a lot of goals so the key might come down to who keeps it tight at the other end. At this time of year, you also have to be sensible and consider whether you have to adapt to the conditions a little bit.”

Striker James Stokoe remains suspended for Magpies but midfielder Jamie Davdison returns from injury.
