BOSS Adie Arnold says he will bide his time over replacing Lee Chudy at Verwood Town.

The former Hamworthy United striker and assistant manager quit after just two weeks as player-coach at Potterne Park with Arnold citing Chudy’s increasing work commitments as the primary cause.

Chudy’s appointment had seemingly brought to an end Arnold’s search for assistance with the club’s coaching but the Potters boss insisted he would not rush to fill the void.

Arnold said: “It was time consuming for Lee with the travelling involved with his work and he felt he wasn’t seeing enough of his family.

“In hindsight, he couldn’t give it 100 per cent and didn’t want to string anyone along. He will take a little break from football and has assured me he won’t sign for another Wessex League club.

"The door will stay open for him and we will stay in touch because he is a cracking lad with a good pedigree.

“We are not particularly looking to replace Lee straight away because it is not a good time of the year to be searching for people.

"It is a busy time for us and people involved with other clubs so I imagine we will wait and see how the land lies in the new year.”

Meanwhile, Arnold’s team will be boosted by the return of Jon Webb and Luke Homer for tonight’s Wessex Premier trip to Fareham Town (7.45pm).

Dan Fawcett is set to continue in goal with Chris Lynch (knee) doubtful.
