Non-league: Bashley announce cuts to 'unsustainable' budget
CASH-STRAPPED Bashley seem set to drastically reduce their playing budget over the next few days as troubles continue to mount for the New Forest outfit.
In a club statement released this evening, Bash said that their "modest playing budget is unsustainable and needs to be recalculated in line with likely income."
In addition, it said the club "have to accept that success this season will be in completing our fixtures and balancing the books."
Chairman Mike Cranidge and manager Paul Gazzard met with the players tonight with Bash set to "issue another statement in due course, after discussions have been properly completed over the weekend."
In addition to the statement, Cranidge insisted there was no imminent danger to the club's existence and that it was in a position to fulfil all current sporting and financial obligations.
The announcement came five days after Bash, rock-bottom of the Southern League Premier Division, saw Stewart Kearn resign as joint-manager.
The club's full statement can be found here.
