FA Cup: Poole Town boss Killick braced for Hungerford test
The Crusaders, one of Poole’s promotion rivals during their two years in Southern South & West, arrive for the third qualifying round clash on the back of some fine form.
Having joined Dolphins in the Premier Division via the play-offs last season, the Berkshire outfit have settled admirably following a tough start with eight wins and seven clean sheets from their past nine matches.
Hungerford are one of only two teams to win a league match at Tatnam since November 2011 with Killick quick to recognise the test Poole’s opponents will pose.
He told the Daily Echo: “When the draw was made, a lot of people were happy but I didn’t see it that way.
“We could have faced a tougher test against a Conference South club away from home but, historically, the teams have been evenly matched and nothing has happened over the summer to change my opinion on that. We anticipate another closely fought encounter.”
Sam Clarke, Lamin Dibba, Jacob Rowe, Taffy Richardson and Michael Charles are in contention but Ian Oliver is suspended.
Jacob Cane will not feature after Killick decided against extending his loan from Exeter City.
