We must keep Josh Grajczonek firing says Darcy Ward
Ward believes his fellow Australian can be a key performer for Pirates when they go in search of grand final glory. Reserve Grajczonek delivered a 12 paid 13-point haul to emerge as a semi-final hero in the club’s second-leg triumph over Swindon.
And Ward thinks the 23-year-old could need to maintain that form against Birmingham .
Ward said: “I think Josh is one of our winning men. We need Josh firing for the final.
“Josh Auty at reserve can be a key for them but we have got the ‘Joshinator’. We need to bring him out.”
Pirates star Ward will be aiming to claim his second title with Poole – having reached the final in each of his four seasons with the Dorset club.
He added: “We definitely need us big boys firing, which we are ready to do. They are strong – we all know that – but we showed in the second leg against Swindon that we are just as strong as anyone.”
