FORMER Cherries trainee Jason Harvell is backing AFC Bournemouth prospects Ryan Case and Alex Moth to gain valuable experience at Cuthbury.

Full-back Case and forward Moth are cutting their teeth in senior football after signing one-month loan deals with Wimborne Town last week.

The Cherries development squad duo previously featured on the non-league circuit during a work experience stint with New Milton last season.

Case and Moth helped the Magpies defeat Shortwood on Tuesday and both are set to feature in the home clash with Clevedon Town tomorrow (3pm).

Wimborne goalkeeper Harvell, one of numerous Dean Court products on the Cuthbury books, believes the pair will benefit from their time in the Southern League.

And he is hoping they can also help Steve Cuss’s men in their bid to fight for a play-off place in Division One South & West.

Harvell told the Daily Echo: “It will definitely be a good experience. The pace of the game in the Southern League is relatively fast.

“In youth football at pro level, they try to pass the ball at a tempo. But, here, you get the physical side with it as well. I think they will learn a lot.

“The lad up front looks quite strong and looks to get shots off, which is what we need. Hopefully, he will be a good addition, albeit short term.

“The lad at the back has good feet, looks quite sharp and has a good delivery. They both look quite promising.”

Ex-Poppies and Poole number one Harvell produced a fine display as Wimborne claimed their first home league win in six attempts on Tuesday.

They had lost four and drawn one of their previous five league matches at Cuthbury and Harvell admitted that record needed to improve.

Speaking ahead of the meeting with Clevedon, Harvell said: “Defensively, we haven’t been doing it and, going forward, we haven’t been creating enough and I don’t think we get enough shots off to test the opposing keepers.

“It is something we are just going to have to keep working on and, hopefully, it is going to improve. Cussy has pointed out to us, collectively, that it has got to improve because it is not good enough.”

Boss Cuss has named defensive trio Shaun Brian, Jordan Cole and Paul Roast in his squad to host Clevedon.
