BREAKING NEWS: The Daily Echo understands Birmingham City have completed the loan signing of Cherries striker Wes Thomas, subject to a medical.
6:55pm
Bit of background on Wes Thomas, whose proposed move to Birmingham City would come as no surprise.
His likely exit has been no secret during a transfer window which has seen him linked with a host of clubs.
The unsettled striker rejoined Eddie Howe’s squad on his return from a loan spell with Blackpool this month.
But he has continued to attract interest with Blackpool, Burnley and Birmingham among the clubs believed to have looked at the striker.
The Londoner has also been linked with a switch to Blackburn with Rovers boss Michael Appleton having managed him during loan stints with both Portsmouth and Blackpool this season.
But Birmingham are believed to have won the race for his signature, with a loan deal until the end of the season set to be finalised ahead of tonight's 11pm deadline.

Speaking about Cherries' previous offer for the winger, compared with yesterday's that was accepted, he said: “I think you need to be careful not to confuse the two offers. The offer that came in yesterday was for cash up front, with other contingencies added on in the event of him being sold or achieving promotion.
“The offer that was on the table 12 months ago was for a relative small amount of cash up front and the rest was predicated on contingency."

12:37pm
Swindon Town have released the following statement regarding the sale of Matt Ritchie to Cherries...
"THE STFC Board acknowledge the disappointment expressed by many fans over the sale of Matt Ritchie to AFC Bournemouth yesterday but it is important that the sale of Matt Ritchie is put into context.
As everyone is fully aware, following the requirement to seek new owners for the club, Swindon Town FC faced the very serious prospect of administration, had it not been successful in securing new investors in an incredibly compressed time frame.
Within this time frame a new consortium has been identified and yesterday evening contracts were exchanged for the sale of the majority shareholding. There now follows a brief period whilst the new owners await Football League approval under the Owners & Directors Test and during this period of time the club requires funding.
A joint decision was taken between the current and prospective new owners to sell Matt Ritchie in order to meet this funding requirement.
The alternative to not securing new owners and securing short term funding would have seen a significant restructure to the Club and the possibility administration. As such, the club’s long term survival and wellbeing had to be the priority.
Losing Matt Ritchie from Paolo Di Canio’s Championship challenging side is very disappointing but the prospective new owners of the club remain committed to supporting Paolo Di Canio and assisting him with the quest to achieve promotion to the Championship at the end of the season."

Cherries youngster Baily Cargill is expected to remain on loan at AFC Totton for a third month, reports Neil Perrett...
CHERRIES youngster Baily Cargill is expected to extend into a third month his loan spell with Southern League outfit AFC Totton.
The cultured 17-year-old defender has been a big hit with Stags followers since initially arriving at Testwood Stadium in November.
Cargill, who can operate at left-back or in central defence, is part of the development squad at Dean Court and was voted first-year player of the year last season.
He came to prominence when he won the sponsors’ man-of-the-match award in Cherries’ pre-season friendly against Bristol City, stepping in at the last minute after Adam Barrett had been injured in the warm up.
Cargill, who made a number of eye-catching displays during Cherries’ pre-season campaign under former boss Paul Groves, linked up with AFC Totton two months ago.
He made his debut in a 2-1 defeat at Conference outfit Forest Green Rovers in the FA Trophy and has since gone on to make 10 appearances in the Southern League Premier Division.
Cargill bagged what proved to be the winner in the Stags’ 2-1 victory over St Neots Town five days ago and is expected to start when AFC Totton host Bashley on Saturday.

Our reporter Neil Perrett has just filed this story...
CHERRIES misfit Lorenzo Davids could today be set to end his fruitless five-month stay with the club by following Frank Demouge out of Dean Court.
Midfielder Davids is understood to be trying to seal a beat-the-transfer-deadline permanent move to Danish top-flight outfit Randers.
Davids, who is a cousin of former Ajax, Juventus and Holland star Edgar Davids, linked up with Cherries in September after signing a two-year deal with the club.
The 26-year-old, who was born in Suriname and holds a Dutch passport, had previously plied his trade in the top flight in both Holland and Germany before joining Cherries on a free transfer.
His career in England was delayed for around a month as the former Holland under-21 international recovered from a knee injury and worked on his fitness.
Signed by Paul Groves, Davids eventually forced his way in and started the last two games under the former Cherries manager, defeats against Walsall and Crawley.
However, despite coming on a substitute against Leyton Orient on the day Eddie Howe was unveiled in October, Davids has not since featured for the first team.
Davids was on the books at Utrecht and Feyenoord before making a name for himself with NEC Nijmegen. He played in the German Bundesliga for FC Augsburg last season.
He is expected to sign for Randers providing the two clubs can reach a compromise arrangement over the remainder of his Cherries contract.
Randers is the sixth largest city in Denmark and the club is currently fifth in the Superliga. They will recommence their season following a winter break with a trip to Brondby on March 3.
Davids’s fellow countryman Demouge this week completed a loan move until the end of the season to Dutch top-flight outfit Roda JC after also failing to settle in England.
11:14am
Cherries midfielder Lorenzo Davids could be a target for Danish side Randers.

A bit of background on Lorenzo Davids...
He has made just three appearances since joining Cherries in August.
The midfielder, a cousin of former Dutch international star Edgar, arrived on a free transfer after being released from his deal with German club FC Augsburg. He signed a two-year contract with Cherries.
He last featured for the Dorset club as a substitute against Leyton Orient in October. His two starts came in Paul Groves's final two matches at the helm, defeats at the hands of Walsall and Crawley.

Ritchie can play on the left OR RIGHT side of midfield. He also operates behind the strikers in a central roll.
He has also been known to play at left back, a position EH wanted strenghtening.
Now taking the above in to account, why would Pugh, seeing as he's recently signed a new contract, suddenly be shown the door?

I did not say that Pugh would be shown the door did I ?? (not reading the post again!). I in fact inferred was that Pugh may want away as his position may be under threat, especially if any club makes a bid for him. I hope he stays of course. But when players get their feathers ruffled this is what happens.

My knowledge of the game is reasonably advanced - Thankyou.

Why do you see the need to look for a double meaning behind everything.

As for being deranged I would be surprised after trying to penetrate some of the thick skull I encounter on here sometimes.

e you post on here you get peoples backs up. You sit there in Lincoln pretending to be lord god almighty and put down anyone who dares question your postings. You keep stating that your knowledge of football is extensive and that you watch games on behalf of other clubs. I would say that, from your postings, i would not pay a bean for your thoughts as you constantly make foolish and ill-informed posts and i can only imagine that any clubs you might work for are on a rapid trip downwards. In short.....you haven't got a clue.

Quite funny really when you think a few of their strays were on here the other week giving it the big one and now we've saved their club from going to the wall, after Max coughed up some loose change he found down the back of the sofa, you would have thought they might be grateful and come on here offering their thanks but, alas,i see there are no posts indicating this. That's gratitude for you!
Matt Ritchie is THE signing of the transfer window,(for many a transfer window),and for a bargain price aswell.Credit to everyone that made it happen. Can't wait to see him and Pughey in full flow marauding down the wings.
And just a word for Shminto, although this has been pretty much covered,Marc Pugh isn't going anywhere as he's just signed a long term contract.Matt Ritchie plays prodominently on the right wing, although he can play left, and therefore isn't a threat to Pughey's position.Ryan Fraser is 18 years old and is probably to be used sparingly for now and to be developed over the coming years.Injuries and loss of form will dictate who plays,it's all about the man in possesion of the shirt.
Come along my good fellow, you claim to be very knowledgable about the game and to be an AFCB die hard but your "knowledge" betrays you at times and it's not often you have a good word to say about transfer fees/players/tactica
l decisions/predictive results/etc...etc..
In short you pretty much come out with the same old guff each time and get up everybodys nose!
