DAVID Dunn is confident of completing a mystery signing tomorrow as he bids to find a solution to Lions’ try-scoring problems.

The Bournemouth director of rugby last night confirmed he was closing in on the recruit – although he remained tight-lipped on the target’s identity.

Dunn is keen not to reveal the name of the potential capture ahead of Lions’ home showdown with Dings Crusaders tomorrow (2.30pm).

But Dunn is hopeful he would provide a timely boost for a Bournemouth team which has the fourth lowest points total in National Two South.

Dunn told the Daily Echo: “We are hoping to unveil a new signing tomorrow.

“I don’t want to say too much but we are quite excited about him.

“He is a high-profile, try-scoring player and we are hoping to complete the signing before the game.”

Beaten 21-6 at Bristol-based Dings earlier in the season, Lions are determined to gain revenge when the teams meet at Chapel Gate.

Dunn said: “We have been able to train throughout the weather lay-off and we are grateful to the staff at Chapel Gate for clearing the snow from the all-weather pitch to allow us to train. We have managed to keep things going, which a lot of other clubs might have struggled to do.

“I am very optimistic we can produce against Dings.

“It was probably our worst display of the season when we played at their place, so we are hoping to redress the balance tomorrow. That will provide extra motivation.”

Dunn is hoping to have a fully-fit squad available.
