HIGHLY-rated midfielder Harry Arter is vowing to focus solely on Cherries’ promotion push amid speculation over his future.

The 23-year-old was this week linked with Premier League clubs West Ham United and Fulham in an article in the Daily Star.

Arter was also left flattered by glowing praise from Jamie Redknapp in the former England star’s column for the Daily Mail.

Londoner Arter has earned rave reviews since emerging as a key player for Eddie Howe following the manager’s return to Dean Court.

The central midfielder has scored five goals and chipped in with three assists for Cherries in 24 appearances this season.

“It is nice to be linked with two really good teams,” admitted Arter, in an interview with the Daily Echo. “But I haven’t really focused on that or taken any of it seriously.

“The most important thing is playing well for Bournemouth and trying to get us up into the Championship.”

Arter, who was handed a new contract by Cherries in October, tying him to the Dorset club until the summer of 2015, also earned a mention from ex-Cherries and Liverpool midfielder Redknapp.

Under the headline ‘Arter the artist’, Redknapp wrote: “Keep an eye out for Harry Arter of Bournemouth. He can play.”

Arter said: “To be recognised by someone like Jamie is a massive compliment.

“He judges the game at a top level and for him to give me a mention was fantastic to read.

“Any good press is always good to read but it is important for me not to get carried away and just try to focus on what I have been doing.”
