Cherries: Howe welcomes Molesley return (with video)

MANAGER Eddie Howe hailed “fantastic character” Mark Molesley after the 31-year-old had made a welcome return to the first-team fold.

The midfielder travelled to Notts County on Tuesday and warmed up with the Cherries squad as he continued his comeback from an Achilles problem.

Plagued by injury, the former non-league star has not featured for Cherries since a substitute appearance at Brentford on Boxing Day last year.

An all-action and popular performer when at his best, Molesley got valuable game-time by finishing last season on loan at Aldershot.

But boss Howe, who handed Molesley his first permanent Cherries contract, is keen to get him involved at Goldsands Stadium as he steps up his fitness bid.

Howe told the Daily Echo: “He has been out for a while with an Achilles problem.

“We took him (to Notts County) just so he could be around the lads and do some work before the game.

“Mark is someone we value very highly as a person and a player. He is a fantastic character - desperate to do well - and a real team player, so we are only too pleased to involve him as he steps up his recovery.

“He has still got some way to go before he is in contention to play.”

At least he's lost that rediculous haircut.

He could have a pink Afro and wear a tu-tu as far as I'm concerned. Brilliant midfielder with good awareness, skill and a great engine. When he's on form he's a no-brainier for the fiest team -UTC!

interesting statement what about the dutchmen is it not good for them to be around for the same reasons, maybe a bit pesamistic on my side but we will have to wait and see

Eddie knows what it's like to have a serious injury and to be out of the game for a long period, Mark is some one he knows well and is just giving him some encouragement. The Dutch dou are deemed not to be fit enough to play and are undergoing a period of extra training to raise their fitness levels, they will get their chance. .

I may be wrong but suspect the double Dutch may be on their way out.Can only guess what sort of money they are on?Eddie might be looking to make better use of it.

I heard Davids was on 5K a week. Don't know if that is true or not but considering his lack of playing time far too much if it is correct.

I also rate Moseley highly. Combative box to box player and an eye for goal.
Glad to see him back.
I also rate David's from what I've seen and think he has great potential.
I'm not so sure about demogue but won't judge yet,but a useful different type of player a la fletch I he's happy to be sat on the bench.!

I know we all hear different things that go on over at dean court, you've heard he is on 5k, someone else heard Daniels is on 6k, I've done it myself when " I've heard things " but none of us actually say ( myself included ) where we heard it or from who. I love a good old rumour, shame very few come true

Thats one of the most honest posts I've seen on here for a while abc 100. Yes, we all like a bit of gossip its why we come on here!! But it would be more "juicey" if posters said where or whom their information comes from. Some hard to believe roumours do come true. Did you know Eddie and Jason are back!!!!!!

Yes Guys,
Mark M is a nice lad, an all round hard worker and solid in defence that few of our opponents can handle,
...as is Wes Foggie, Mr Arter esq and Donal McDermott.
