IT’S been a busy year for Dorset singer-songwriter Lou Brown. Last April she was playing the American mid-West, promoting her debut album, What Are You Singing About? and there’s been no let up since her return, playing up and down the country, from folk clubs to theatres – even on a tall-ship moored in Bristol docks!
Lou, who’s opening for the Tyla Gang at Wimborne’s Tivoli Theatre on Friday, has as full a diary as ever, including a summer of festivals, from Priddy Folk Festival in Somerset to Americana International in Nottinghamshire.
The highlight of this busy schedule is an hour-long set at Glastonbury in June, something which Lou is particularly excited about.
“To be playing a festival that already has Neil Young, Fleet Foxes, and Bruce Springsteen on the line-up is unbelievable”, said Lou. “I can’t wait to play, and I can’t wait to go and hear all the other amazing acts.
“I grew up gigging around Bournemouth and Poole, and I really miss playing to the great audiences we have in the area.”
