FANCY having a go on the bigger and better ice rink that is in Bournemouth’s Lower Gardens this Christmas?

The Daily Echo is offering 20 pairs of tickets for readers to try this spectacular wintry attraction for themselves.

The rink, which opened last week in the Lower Gardens, is sure to be one of the great talking points in the town in the run-up to Christmas.

It has been provided by the That Group, supported by Bournemouth Town Centre Business Improvement District (BID).

Steve Hughes, manager of the BID, said: “The ice rink is bigger and better than ever this year. It’s a huge opportunity to come and skate but also see what else is on offer in Bournemouth this Christmas.”

To be in with a chance of winning tickets to the rink, all you have to do is be sure to buy the Daily Echo this Thursday.

The paper will contain an entry form which will give you a chance of being one of the lucky people skating for free.

The ice rink is just one of a package of attractions in Bournemouth town centre this year.

It will be joined by a snow globe, which arrives early in December – giving visitors the chance to step inside and have their photographs taken in a Christmassy scene.

And there are 20 6ft tall Nutcracker King sculptures dotted around the town for visitors to the town to spot.

Shoppers can pick up a map and follow the Nutcracker Trail around the town to collect the names of as many as possible. Those who collect at least 10 can enter a draw to win an iPad Mini.

Fifteen of the Nutcracker kings are in the town centre, with another five in the coastal villages of Westbourne, Southbourne, Pokesdown and Boscombe.

A visit to the town’s Christmas attractions is the perfect chance to see the businesses that have opened in the past year.

Mr Hughes said: “I think Bournemouth has got an absolutely great Christmas offer this year, both in terms of attractions and also great shops, bars and restaurants. Why go anywhere else?”
