Voting in our Child of the Year competition is now open so it's time to meet the entrants and pick your winner.

All the children in our galleries below have a chance to win our super prizes and this year we have three ways of voting – by phone, text or with the coupon inside Tuesday's paper. All the details are below.

The competition is split into four categories and your votes will decide the shortlist from which the winner will be chosen by our panel of judges.

The top four pictures in each category as voted by you will go on that shortlist.

The judges will then select a winner in each category, and from those four pictures our Child of the Year 2016 will be selected.

Our overall winner and our category winners will each receive a magnificent winning photograph and certificate.

The competition is now closed and no more pictures are eligible for entry.
