BIGGER than the General Election, you have until midnight on Monday to cast your vote in our online talent competition The Calling.

Every month there will be a public vote and a panel of judges who will pick two acts from the most popular musical talent.

The monthly winners will win a place on The Calling Stage at Grooves on the Green festival in Poole taking place on July 11-12.

There are 22 bands and artists to choose from in this month's vote. You can listen to their tracks below, then simply cast your vote in our poll.

The two-day, family-friendly gathering on Ashley Cross Green features music on two stages with other attractions including a local food and drink festival, sports on the Green, alternative therapies and the popular Kidzone with lots of activities to keep the youngest groovers happy.

Programmed by Solid Air, the main stage is headlined by the fabulous Baker Brothers on Saturday. The Dorset-based, five-piece funk collective enjoy a huge following in Japan and continental Europe but are less well known in their homeland, despite the best efforts of celebrity fans such as Craig Charles.

On Sunday, multi instrumentalist singer songwriter Mutant Vinyl, whose sax playing has grabbed the attention of Sir Paul McCartney no less, opens proceedings on the main stage in what will be his only local show of the year. His track Lavender was tipped by Janice Long and Tom Robinson, as well as being played on BBC Radio 2, 6Music and Amazing Radio. He has opened shows for acts as diverse as Rudimental, Rita Ora, The Noisettes, Beverly Knight and Tricky, with whom he has also collaborated on a song.

Grooves on the Green runs from noon until 7pm each day and early bird tickets will go on sale in May from Le Bateau, Ashley Cross. As in previous years £1 from every ticket sold will be donated to Dorset disability charity, Diverse Abilities Plus, which has received more than £9,000 over the last two years from its association with Grooves on the Green.
