Two more weeks of overnight closures start from tomorrow on the Spur Road.
The A338 will be closed from the A31 at Ashley Heath roundabout to the Cooper Dean roundabout.
From Monday, May 16, to Saturday, May 28, the road will be closed from 8pm-6am, and the usual diversion signs will be in place.
Between 6am-8pm in the second week of the closures, commuters will not be travelling inside the contraflow but will still only be able to use one lane of the dual carriageway.
Road workers are in the final stages of their nine-month project, which first began in September.
Dorset County Council’s online blog, dedicated to the road works, read: “We are currently on track to reopen the road to four lanes at the end of May – we will let you know as soon as we have an exact date.”
The last two weeks of the road works - which have aimed to replace the road using 100 per cent of recycled material - will include finishing the surfacing works, removing the temporary barriers and putting down the new lines.
